The Mommies Network is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helpin

g moms find support and friendship in their local community. We were founded April, 2005 and currently have 43 communities in 18 states with over 13,000 members. In 2007 we opened our first "dads-only" communities to support the unique needs of fathers. http://www.themommiesnetwork.org/

I am thankful for my new friends

When we first moved to the mountains, I couldn't think of one reason I wanted to stay here, I was bored, lost, and lonely. By January I thought of every reason why we should leave. Luckily, right around that time a company I had contacted, approved me to start a community for local moms in the area. I was terrified, I wasn't sure if anyone would actually join, or worse, they would join but then hate it and leave. Day after day, I received applications for new moms eager to join my group. Now only three months later we are nearing 100 members! I have been able to meet several ladies in person and we always have such a great time together. This is such a wonderful group of women, many of us have very different beliefs and values, but we have one thing in common, we are all mothers. So, we over look everything else and just enjoy bonding with other mothers. I don't know what I would do without the group now. The other day while chatting, one mom said "I am thankful for my new friends. That sounded hokey didn't it?" Certainly not!! I too, am thankful for my new friends.
